Community Events

Abbotsford Child & Youth Health Fair


Abbotsford Abilities sponsored their Child & Youth Health Fair on September 23 with over 20 exhibitors coming to share information on their services for children with disabilities.  We were able to raise over $800.00 for  Matthew’s House, which provides respite care to support families in the Fraser Valley.

Parkinson’s Super Walk


Surrey Clinic supported the Parkinson’s Super Walk in Surrey and did their own fundraising with a bake sale at the clinic.  Both clients and staff supported our fundraising efforts!  Our staff led the warm up before the walk and had a wonderful time participating in the walk.

Chilliwack’s Amazing Chase (May 3rd, 2014)


20140503_094544Chilliwack’s Amazing Chase, a fund raiser for Pediatric Cancer Research at B.C. Children’s Hospital. Abilities is hosting the registration for the start of this event!

World Voice Day (April 16th, 2014)


Our Voice Therapist, Sherri Zelazny, helped organize an event with the Surrey Library. It was held at the City Centre Library, a senior choir performed, and Sherri gave a free lecture about the importance of Voice & Aging.

December 2013

All clinics participated in collecting food for their local Food Banks. Abilities awarded a staff lunch to the clinic who received the most votes on what they created with the food.

Youth & Child Health Fair (September 2013)

Abilities hosted a Health Fair in Abbotsford to bring together many providers of kids health services. It was a great opportunity for parents, teachers, teaching assistants and health professionals to meet and learn about what is available in this area. We plan to make this an annual event and plans are under way for 2014.

Parkinson’s Super Walk (September 8th, 2013)


community2Our Surrey staff, and some of our Abbotsford Staff participated in this event in Bear Creek Park in Surrey and they raised $1400.00 for the Parkinson’s Society.
